Small trees are scattered among the grass, providing additional shade. The beach itself is pretty narrow and without dunes, but there is still probably a good 30-40 feet between dune grass and water. Indiana Dunes State Park beaches always seem to be swarming with people, but each of the 5 times we’ve visited this beach (just miles away from the State Park stretch), it has always been chill with small numbers of people.
My family discovered this park and beach during the summer of 2020 when we were trying to find outdoor excursions away from crowds.
